Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Local Adjuster ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects information when you use our software-as-a-service platform (the "Service"). It applies to visitors of local-adjuster.com as well as authenticated users of the App, Admin and Platform panels.

1. Information we collect

a. Information you provide

• Account & contact details — name, email, phone number, organization, role.
• Customer Data — client records, claim and submission details, financial figures, insurance information, files, chat messages and any other content you store in the Service.
• Billing — limited billing identifiers (e.g. customer ID, last 4 digits of card). Full card data is handled by our PCI-compliant payment processor; we don't store it.

b. Information collected automatically

• Usage data — IP address, browser type, pages visited, actions taken (used to keep an audit trail of who changed what, and to debug issues).
• Cookies & similar technologies — strictly-necessary cookies for sign-in and session security. We don't run third-party advertising cookies on the Service.

2. How we use information

We use information to:

• Provide, maintain and improve the Service;
• Authenticate users and protect accounts from unauthorized access;
• Send transactional emails and in-app notifications (e.g. mentions, status updates, password resets);
• Keep an audit log of changes to records, so your organization can see who edited what and when (Los Angeles time);
• Detect, prevent and respond to fraud or abuse;
• Comply with legal obligations.

3. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information or Customer Data. We share information only:

• With trusted infrastructure providers strictly to operate the Service (e.g. cloud hosting, email delivery, payment processing) — under contracts that require confidentiality and appropriate security;
• With other members of your organization, per the access controls you configure in the Admin panel;
• When required by law, valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Local Adjuster, our users or the public;
• In connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we'll notify you and your data will remain subject to a privacy policy at least as protective as this one.

4. Data retention

We retain Customer Data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to satisfy legal, accounting or backup needs. You may request earlier deletion at any time (see Your rights below); we honor those requests except where retention is required by law (e.g. financial recordkeeping).

5. Security

We protect data with industry-standard measures including TLS in transit, encryption at rest for sensitive fields, scoped database access per organization, audit logging, and routine backups. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password and enable any multi-factor options offered on your account.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you;
• Correct inaccurate information;
• Request deletion of your personal information;
• Export your data in a portable format;
• Object to or restrict certain processing;
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" — even though we don't sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@local-adjuster.com. We'll respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

7. Children

The Service is intended for use by adjusters, contractors and business operators. It is not directed at children under 16 and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

8. International users

The Service is hosted in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you understand and consent to the transfer of your information to the U.S. for processing in accordance with this Policy.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. If the changes are material we'll notify you in-app or by email.
